Volunteer

Join other awesome people like you who contributed more than 6,000 hours last year, making it possible for us to distribute more than 7 million pounds of food.  It’s easy, fun, and volunteerism makes it possible for us to get the work done.

River Valley Regional Food Bank volunteers contribute to our mission in many valuable ways. Volunteers work in the warehouse; inspect, sort, and pack food; help in the office, and much more.

Volunteer Groups

We are happy to host groups of people coming together from work, church or school.  We can host groups up to 20 volunteers at a time, although group sizes of 5 to 15 are always welcome.  For youth groups ages 12-15 we require one adult chaperone per 3 children, and one adult present for every 6 youth, ages 16 and 17.  We request our volunteers be over the age of twelve.

Getting organized requires some special scheduling. To explore the possibility of scheduling a group, contact Tracy Engel at mailto: tengel@rvrfoodbank.org or call 479/785-0582.

Kids and Youth Volunteers

We know that many families want to volunteer together, and that school-aged children and young adults are also eager to help.  To ensure the safety of volunteers in an active warehouse setting, volunteers ages 12 to 15 must to be accompanied by a parent or guardian while volunteering. Volunteers age 16 and above may work without an accompanying adult (exceptions exist for youth groups – see above).
