As we monitor the evolving COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) situation, we want to continue to be a resource for those who need food assistance.
If you’re in need of assistance, you may utilize the services of one of our pantry partners. Additionally, several area school districts and local organizations are planning to provide meals or other food items during the shutdown. Here is a fluid list, broken down by city, of the ones we know about:
ALMA
Alma United Methodist Church: 22 Ash Street, food can be received from 10-11 a.m. from March 17-20.
Beyond Church: 4570 Hwy 71 North, food can be received from 10-11 a.m. from March 17-20.
Grace Church: 330 Rudy Road, food can be received from 10-11 a.m. from March 17-20.
Southside Baptist Church: 620 Red Hill Road, food can be received from 10-11 a.m. from March 17-20.
Trinity Baptist Church: 5020 Hwy 71 North, food can be received from 10-11 a.m. from March 17-20.
Impact Church: 1607 Hwy 64 East, food can be received from 10-11 a.m. from March 17-20.
Kiddie Kollege Alma: Will offer food and meals to teachers and families who have lost jobs or hours of work. Will also accept drop-in students if families need child care at this time.
Ridgeline Church: 1411 Maple Shade Road, food can be received from 10-11 a.m. from March 17-20.
First Baptist Church Alma: 211 North Mountain Grove Road, food can be received from 10-11 a.m. from March 17-20.
All Alma School District Offices: Meals can be received from 10-11 a.m. from March 17-20.
BOONEVILLE
Booneville Public Schools: Will provide grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. to noon at the elementary campus. Meals will be handed out behind the elementary school where the car pickup line is located.
Booneville Seventh Day Adventist Food Pantry: Will distribute produce only. Clients must wait outside in the front of the building, where bags or boxes of goods will be brought out for pickup. Will serve every Thursday from 1-3 p.m.
CEDARVILLE
Cedarville School District: Distributing prepared meals and watermelons daily along bus routes in the school district. Meals will be available for children ages 0-18.
CHARLESTON
Charleston Ministerial Alliance: Will remain open for clients every Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon.
CLARKSVILLE
Clarksville Public Schools: Will provide grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Clarksville Middle School and Clarksville Junior High School. Meals will be available for all children ages 1-18, at no charge. Students do not have to attend Clarksville Public Schools to receive meals.
DYER
Dyer Community Center: 305 North Washington, food can be received from 10-11 a.m. from March 17-20.
FORT SMITH
After Mercy Care Food Pantry: Due to the nature of the pantry’s business, it will be unable to serve the public until further notice.
Cliff Terrace Church: Will have regularly scheduled food distributions on every third Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon for their clients. Call (479) 452-5734 for additional information.
Donald W. Reynolds Cancer Support House: On call as needed at (479) 782-6302.
Fort Smith Boys and Girls Club: Will provide grab-and-go meals March 23-27. Kids 18 and under eat free. Pick up at sites near the front entry.
Fort Smith Public Schools: Will provide grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches March 16-19 from 8-9 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Meals will be provided at Ballman, Barling, Beard, Carnall, Fairview, Howard, Morrison, Pike, Spradling, Sunnymede and Tilles elementary schools.
Girls Inc.: 1415 Old Greenwood Rd., will serve breakfast and lunch on Friday (March 20) and March 23-27 from 8-9 a.m. and 11 a.m. to noon.
Sebastian County Senior Centers: Will continue with home meal deliveries and offer transportation to grocery stores and pharmacies for clients.
GREENWOOD
Greenwood Public Schools: Will provide grab-and-go lunches through March 20. Pickup at Greenwood Junior High School from 11 a.m. to noon.
Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church: 103 W Denver Street, will continue food distributions on the last Saturday of each month in the fellowship hall from 7-10 a.m.
HACKETT
Hackett School District: Will offer grab-and-go breakfast and lunch every Monday through Friday until school resumes. Meals will be available from noon to 1 p.m. each day at Hackett School Cafeteria and at the Bonanza City Park, Alexander Park in Hartford and at Midland Ship Park. Meals are free to children ages 0-18.
KIBLER
Kibler Baptist Church: 147 E. Kibler Hwy., food can be received from 10-11 a.m. from March 17-20.
MAGAZINE
Magazine Public Schools: Will provide grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches to students at no charge daily from 10 a.m. to noon. Pick up meals at the backdoor of the cafeteria at the elementary school.
MENA
Mena Public Schools: Will provide grab-and-go lunches to students through March 20 at the Louise Durham Elementary Car Rider Line from 10-11:30 a.m., and at the Mena High School student parking lot from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
St. Agnes Catholic Church: 203 Eighth Street, will distribute bags of food on the first Thursday of every month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
OZARK
Franklin County Senior Citizen Center: Will remain open to clients, as usual. Have a contingency plan in place for drive-through service, should situation call for it. The Franklin County Senior Citizen Center is in need of individual serving-size products of fruits, breakfast bars and other nutritious snacks.
VAN BUREN
Clean Cookin’: Will provide meals to children in need.
Concord Baptist Church: 6705 Alma Highway, food can be received from 10-11 a.m. from March 17-20.
Kiddie Kollege Van Buren: Will offer food and meals to teachers and families who have lost jobs or hours of work. Will also accept drop-in students if families need child care at this time.
Van Buren Police Department: Will provide backpack items to children in need.
Van Buren Public Schools: Will provide grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches this week. Meals will be available from 8:30-9:30 a.m. and noon to 1 p.m. Meals will be served at Central and Tate Elementary, as well as Northridge Middle School.
RUDY
Kenner Chapel Freewill Baptist Church: Kenner Chapel Road, food can be received from 10-11 a.m. from March 17-20.
WALDRON
Waldron Public Schools: Will provide grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches for students March 16-20. Meals will be available from 8-9 a.m. and 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Adventure Learning Academy. The school district is working to develop meal programs off campus.
